End of Year Data - National Assessments

As a school, we have rigorous procedures in place to assess all children's ongoing progress in their learning as well as track their attainment against national benchmarks.

As a school, we are always improving. We learn new teaching strategies and continuously adapt our provision to best meet the needs of all pupils.

Although data can be compared year on year to see how we are improving as a school, each cohort of children is very different. It is important to remember that varying levels of SEN, levels of family support and numbers in classes can have an impact on each set of data.

EYFS Performance

At the end of their time in Foundation Stage, the government collects data on whether the children have achieved a Good Level of Development (GLD) in their Early Learning Goals.

Phonics Attainment

At the end of Year 1, all children take part in the National Phonics Screening Check to assess their attainment in phonic sounds.

Any children who did not pass the PSC at the end of Year 1 are given additional teaching and support in order to gain these skills before being retested at the end of Year 2.

4 more children passed the test at the end of Yr2, however with a few children leaving the year group and several children joining, the % stayed the same.

Timestables Attainment

In 2022, the government introduced a new Multiplication Timestables Check for schools. The aim of the check is to measure children's instant recall of timestables up to 12x12 and increase the awareness of the importance this plays in children's basic maths abilities.

End of Key Stage 2 SATS

At the end of their time in Primary School (end of Year 6), children sit the Standard Assessment Tests in Reading, Mathematics (arithmetic and reasoning) and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (GPS or SPaG). Children's writing assessment is not a standardised test but is generated by Teacher Assessment from a range of pieces of a period of time.
