Aspire Teacher Training
Primary School Direct - We Offer a Primary 5-11 Programme
You can train to teach here at Bramley C of E Primary School in collaboration with Aspire Teacher Training. Aspire is committed to the recruitment and training of the next generation of primary school teachers in collaboration with the University of Winchester.
We offer placements on the Schools Direct Teacher Training programme. School Direct is a dynamic and exciting school-led teacher training programme designed and delivered by an alliance of schools in partnership with a university. Aspire’s School Direct course lasts one year and you will train in at least two local schools as well as attending training at the University of Winchester.
This course offers a brilliant option if you want to train and learn ‘on the job’ in a primary school, seeing teaching and learning in action every day. Trainees spend four days each week in their host school, learning alongside an experienced class teacher who acts as their mentor for the year. The remaining day is dedicated to high-quality professional training. Approximately twenty-three of these training days are delivered at an Aspire partner school and twelve days are delivered at the University of Winchester, an accredited outstanding Initial Teacher Training provider.
You shouldn’t worry about being thrown in at the deep end at your host school. You’ll be part of a team from the very start, receiving intensive support from experienced teachers and mentors. All our mentors are experienced class teachers who have received thorough training in order to support and mentor you throughout the whole year.
You will need to hold a university degree of 2.2 or above to undertake teacher training. You will also need to have GCSE grade C/4 or above in English (language), Maths and Science. For more information on entry requirements, please follow the link below;
