Welcome to Year 6!
In year 6 we build on the learning developed throughout the children’s time in school to meet the requirements of the year 6 curriculum. We work hard to ensure the children are fully prepared for the Standard Attainment Tests (SATs) in May whilst ensuring that we cover a broad and rich curriculum which excites and interests the pupils. Examples of topics we have covered this year are: The Jurassic Coast, which linked in with our residential trip in the autumn term; World War 2; James Bond and Ancient Greece.
Throughout the year, we also lay the necessary foundations to ensure a smooth transition into secondary school. We work closely with local schools to ensure the change is as easy as possible for the children and we promote the exciting opportunities that secondary schools provide.
We have an amazing time in year 6 where there is a strong sense of team work and the learning is challenging and engaging. To find out more information about what we are doing this term, including homework, please click on the links below.
